The story is no different in the Muslim world with the approach of Eid ul Fitr, the festival that marks the end of the month of Ramadhan. But one of this year's 'must-haves' would probably be banned from sale in many parts of the West. It's a distinctive, bearded figurine, riding 'shotgun' in a military jeep.

New "Insurgent Ali" Action Figure Surprise Attacks Toy Market

PAWTUCKET, RI - With first-week sales blowing the walls off of those of any other line of action figures in U.S. history, Playtime Inc's new terrorist-inspired "Insurgent Ali" action figure made a surprise attack on the toy market last Sunday. Industry sources reported that such a market invasion was unprecedented and was likely to change the way institutions at every level of the toy distribution infrastructure were run forever.

"We didn't think it was possible at first, but when we found out that Insurgent Ali's first-week sales had mercilessly decimated G.I. Joe's comfortable occupation of the toy market, we realized that we had ended the world of toys as we knew it," said Playtime spokesman Sid Vox. Vox added that as long as C.E.O. Otto B. Larson stayed at company's helm, Playtime would always be one step ahead of the competition.

Due to shifting consumer interest, Insurgent Ali's success has also made it difficult for competitors in the toy airplane business. CBC market analyst Roger Conway said that Insurgent Ali has been so successful that Playtime has literally hijacked the breadth and power of toy airplane manufacturers and used it against them and several others including construction toy makers.
